SAND CASTLES

Growing up in Kansas City, I didn't have many opportunities to build sand castle's.  Now, that I live less than 10 minutes from the beach, I've decided I'm going to build a sand castle this summer.  I've always wanted to, but never knew just how to build one.  In search for an instructional forum, I found the tools that I will need at MarthaStewart.com, so now I have no excuse.  Have you ever built a sand castle?  If not, now's the time! ~April

BEST FRIENDS in little packages

I've always been an avid animal lover.  It doesn't really matter what type of animal, I love them all.  I'm so drawn to their vulnerability and unconditional love and trust.  They are the most forgiving creatures with an endless supply of love and compassion.  I've had many BEST FRIENDS in my life.  It hurts just as bad today, as it did the days that I lost them. They each hold a special place in my heart and seeing their picture brings back a lot of emotion and so many memories.
I have acquired many animals over the past six years.  My sweet husband has allowed me to adopt a new BEST FRIEND each year we've been married. Plus we also have Bubba, our bulldog that he had when we first met.  I think we are now at our max of four dogs and three talking parrots. Each one of my BEST FRIENDS know that they are my favorite. I know their personalities, likes and dislikes, favorite toys, and special scratch spots.  They are the children that I never had and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. ~April

GIRLFRIENDS

I was reminded today how important it is to stop and reconnect with my girlfriends.  Life moves so quickly, and time gets away before I know it, months have passed and moments have been lost. The one thing I've found is that no matter what age I am, I always need my girlfriends. Playing dress up is just as fun now,as it was when I was little. My girlfriends make me laugh, encourage me forward, and love me unconditionally.  If you haven't talked to your girlfriend in awhile, it's time to pick up the phone and let her know you're thinking about her. It will make her day and yours! ~April
